Hoya kerrii comes from South China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the Indonesian island of Java.

This is the famous Heart Leaf or Sweet Heart Hoya. Thousands are sold every valentines day as rooted single leaves. They will only very rarely grow a new growth. Only if a piece of stem was broken off with the leaf. They can live several years as a rooted leaf but don't expect a plant to necessarily grow from it.

They have very thick lobed leaves that look like big green hearts.

There are several different leaf variations. We have green, and albomarginata form (with white around the margin of the leaf).

This is the green form.

The flowers are small and tend to be yellow with red centers. We occasionally come across a more pinkish flowered one. The flowers drip an orange, sugary nectar.

While they are strong hearty plants, they really only grow vigorously when kept in very hot and humid conditions. They can be fast growing when the conditions are right.
