Hoya davidcummingii is a compact, free-flowering species beloved for its cheerful clusters of bright Pink and yellow flowers. Native to the Philippines, this charming miniature hoya produces some of the most vibrant blooms in the genus—and it's known for flowering readily, even on young plants.
Flowers & Fragrance
The star-shaped blooms appear in dainty umbels and emit a sweet, pleasant fragrance that smells just like butterscotch. Unlike many hoyas that require years of maturity before flowering, davidcummingii is generous with its blooms throughout the growing season, making it a rewarding choice for those eager to experience hoya flowers. Once mature it blooms nearly all year for us.
Foliage
The small, slender leaves are dark green with subtle texture and darker, purple or red margins, growing on delicate vining stems. Its petite stature makes it ideal for small spaces, terrariums, or windowsill gardens where larger hoyas might overwhelm.
Care Requirements
This species thrives in bright indirect light, moderate to high humidity, and a chunky, well-draining substrate. Water when the soil approaches dryness, and avoid letting it sit in soggy conditions. Warmth and bright light encourages more prolific blooming.
Growth & Display
With its compact, trailing habit, davidcummingii shines in hanging baskets, mounted arrangements, or small pots where its delicate vines can cascade freely. An excellent choice for beginners and collectors alike—easy to care for, quick to bloom, and endlessly rewarding.
