Hoya carnosa 'Nova Ghost'
This stunning cultivar is a selection from Hoya carnosa, which has its native range from southern China to Laos, Japan to Taiwan. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Australia.
The Nova Ghost cultivar has been grown selectively to promote the silvery 'splash' to an extent where it gives the leaf a consistent silvery speckled appearance, almost fully engulfing the leaf with pale silver. The leaves are typically oval-shaped, smooth, and slightly succulent, storing water to help the plant endure periods of drought. The silvery sheen of the foliage, often accented by faint green veins, becomes more pronounced under bright indirect light. When mature, the plant produces clusters of star-shaped, porcelain-like flowers—typically white or pale pink with a red or yellow center.
This fast-growing trailing or climbing vine is perfect for hanging baskets or trained on a support.
Care Requirements: Recreate a dense forest environment with very little, if any, direct sunlight. Our Classic or Shaggy Aroid & Hoya Mix provides the ideal well-draining substrate. Prefers temperatures between 65-80°F. High humidity levels, ideally above 60%. Water when top inch of soil is dry. Perfect for beginners and collectors seeking an easy-care silvery Hoya.
