Hoya erythrostemma
This climbing species is native to Thailand and probably Malaysia, growing as a climbing, epiphyte along rivers and streams in lowland rainforest. It’s range extends to Myanmar, Laos, Borneo, Java, and Sumatra. The specific epithet "erythrostemma" means "red-crowned" and refers to the red corona of the flowers.
Features fleshy green leaves with light green venation, elliptical with pointed tips measuring up to 6 inches long and 2 or 3 inches wide. Under sunny conditions, new growth takes on a pretty red color. During summer, produces lovely round clusters of up to 40 flowers which last for two weeks. White to pale-pink flowers measure about 0.4 inches across with contrasting reddish corona, densely hairy with mild scent. A heavy nectar dripper.
Care Requirements:
Grow in very bright filtered light.
