Hoya benguetensis comes from Luzon island, the largest and northernmost island in the Philippines.

It has both spectacular foliage and flowers.

The leaves are hearty, thick and large, elongated with very pronounces veins. Sun stressing brings out beautiful color. It has proven to be fairly hearty but somewhat slow growing for us. Like so many hoyas, it only grows vigorously when the temperatures are warm. (Days over 75 and nights over 60 and very high humidity.) It can take cooler temperatures for brief periods (mid 40's) but does not like it.

The flowers are relatively smallish but are a striking bright orange with darker orange to reddish corona.
