Hoya Australis 'Lisa' is a wonderful choice for anyone interested in Hoyas whether your just getting started or well into building your collection. It is strong and hearty with thick waxy leaves which make it able to withstand more varied conditions than some. That said, it grows best and fastest in quite bright but not full sun, warm and humid conditions. It is fast growing, with an upright, climbing growth habit.

  • Light: Bright filtered light, Too shady of conditions and it will lose the variegation
  • Water: Moist rainforest conditions, high humidity, frequent watering in a fast draining, chunky mix. Never soggy or sitting in water.
  • Minimum Temp: 50+ preferred, low 40's for brief periods, Protect from frost
  • Flower: 1.5–2.5 cm, white with each lobe marked red, late fall and early winter
  • Fragrant: Yes very, especially in the evening. Some say spicy chocolate vanilla
  • Leaves: Elliptical or Ovate, Beautifully variegated.
  • Comments: fast grower, Climbing
  • Origin: Indonesia, Australia (Eastern and northern Australia, from the Northern Territory though coastal Queensland from Cape York to northern New South Wales), Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu.
  • Habitat: Rainforest margins and rocky areas especially in coastal areas.
