Discovered in Papua New Guinea in 1933.

It has very large robust leaves. The new growth is an iridescent, satiny, bronze that matures to very large, glossy, deep green, hard, elongated leaves.

The flowers are an impressive cup shape and up to 2" across. Floral, gardenia like, scent in the evenings.

Color variations range from nearly white to pink to nearly red.

Though we have not bloomed ours yet we were told it should be pink.
